In the Entiat River subbasin of the Upper Columbia, a very strong community-based commitment to restoration has enabled ISEMP to work with local project sponsors and landowners to implement an Intensively Monitored Watershed (IMW) approach to habitat restoration and effectiveness monitoring. The IMW approach to restoration and monitoring means that watershed-scale habitat restoration is tightly coordinated with an effectiveness monitoring program to maximize the ability to detect fish responses to changes in their habitat by maximizing contrast and reducing noise to increase the ability to detect an effect.
